The CTM Parents Association is open to all the adults who are important to the children enrolled here. The mission of the PA is to create a welcoming community for parents, relatives, and special friends of our children, and to offer strong support to the teachers and staff who create the loving and creative environments in which our children thrive. Please join us in this quest to prepare our children for a lifetime of learning.

Charles Towne Montessori’s parents association hosts several special events for our students and parents each year, as well as providing support for the school overall. All of the efforts of our group are intended to benefit the the students and the teachers at Charles Towne Montessori.
Katie Turner has two children Sadie (4 years) and Samuel (3 years) at CTM. Both of her children have been enrolled in Montessori since they were infants and joined CTM in 2020. Katie is currently serving as chairperson of the Parent Association where she hopes to enable our families to easily reengage both with the school and each other from a socially distanced past few years. Katie is a full time working mom and is the lead underwriting specialist for a nonprofit insurance carrier. She has served on many committees, is the assistant Sunday school teacher at St Joseph’s Catholic Church pre-k class and fills many other support roles as needed. Volunteering has been embedded in her nature since a very young age. She has a passion for education, child welfare, animals, serving her community and raising her two beautiful children!
Abi is a British Mum to a primary and soon to be toddler student at CTM. Her husband Chris and she moved from the UK 7 years ago and very much enjoy the sunny, beach life of Charleston. She previously worked in the fashion industry, traveling and meeting new people everyday before becoming a SAHM during the pandemic. Her goal on the PA is to help bring parents together to support each other, the teachers, and build a deeper community spirit within the school.
Luisa and her husband, Eric Sr, moved from Waco, Texas, to Charleston in July of 2020 with their two children, Eric Jr (7) and Cecilia (4), who attend CTM. Luisa was born in Houston, Texas, and spent six years in the US Air Force before completing her degrees (BBA and MS) at Baylor University. She became interested in childhood education when her son was born and continues to learn about pedagogical techniques. She enjoys reading a good book, long walks at sunset on Folly Beach, and a good binge series on Netflix. As a PA leader, Luisa seeks to connect CTM families to strengthen the community and create lasting bonds between the students.
Jen is a mama of three boys (two human children and a very hairy dog). Theodore (age 3) joined CTM in December. While taking a break from classroom teaching to spend time with her family, Jen co-founded a Montessori teacher training program and leads online workshops. Jen looks forward to blending her experiences as a primary teacher and parent throughout her involvement with the PA.
The parents association runs an annual Holiday Shop before the winter break that helps to teach the children about giving, thankfulness, and cooperation. This volunteer driven event is a favorite of the students and parents alike.
