The CTM Parents Association is open to all the adults who are important to the children enrolled here. The mission of the PA is to create a welcoming community for parents, relatives, and special friends of our children, and to offer strong support to the teachers and staff who create the loving and creative environments in which our children thrive. Please join us in this quest to prepare our children for a lifetime of learning.

Charles Towne Montessori’s parents association hosts several special events for our students and parents each year, as well as providing support for the school overall. All of the efforts of our group are intended to benefit the the students and the teachers at Charles Towne Montessori.

Melaina Murray Parent Association
Melaina Murray has a daughter who has attended CTM since Toddler and is now enrolled in Primary. Our family has thoroughly enjoyed our time since 2024 with CTM participating as Room Parents and members of the PA. Melaina is a native to Charleston with both sides of her family dating back to the mid-1700s in the Lowcountry. She serves as the Chief of Staff of a government contractor. Additional roles and volunteer positions include innovation evaluations with NATO DIANA and grant committee evaluations with Coastal Community Foundation of SC.
Maren Trochman Parent Association
Maren Trochmann has one child happily enrolled at CTM (Vera - Primary). She works in government consulting and also teaches in an MPA program. In her spare time, she enjoys the beach with her husband, daughter, and their two dogs, a good workout, traveling, and reading. Maren is excited to be an official part of the PA this year to help strengthen the CTM community.
Amy Maddox Parent Association
Hi CTM Families! This is our first year at CTM and we are thrilled to enter into the CTM
Community! My children are Graham Maddox (age 5) and Amelia Mattox (age 3). I am a virtual Kindergarten teacher for an online public charter school. I’ve learned much about Montessori schools through my education in earning my early childhood degree. I’m looking forward to assisting the Parents Association this year and getting to meet you at school functions and events!

Sammie Blizzard Parent Association - Treasurer
Sammie Blizzard is a proud wife and mother of two boys, Trent & Troy. She works with her family’s business, SNS Technologies, where she helps oversee accounting, marketing, and daily operations. Sammie enjoys traveling with her family, staying busy, and being involved in her children’s school community. She is excited to serve on the Parent Association Board and looks forward to supporting the school and connecting with other families.

Our Events
Holiday Shoppe
The parents association runs an annual Holiday Shop before the winter break that helps to teach the children about giving, thankfulness, and cooperation. This volunteer driven event is a favorite of the students and parents alike.
Spirit Nights
Spirit Nights are social events at local restaurants who generously agree to host the event and donate a portion of their proceeds to our PA!
Tea Party
Tea Party is a fun Fall social event on campus. It was a hit!
Trunk or Treat
Trunk or Treat was a new event that was paired with the Fall Movie Night! What a fun night!
Teacher Appreciation Week
Each May we celebrate our wonderful teachers and shower them with a week full of treats!
Look What We Did!
This year we raised enough money to support the Elementary classroom purchase chicks for their Zoology studies and were able to help send three staff to the American Montessori Society (AMS) annual conference
