Thank you for your Generosity
Our Hurricane Relief Collection was a huge success thanks to all of you. Your generosity
was overwhelming. Montessori's belief that people should work for the good of all humanity is reflected in her statement that "everyone in the world must move with a purpose and must work, not only for himself, but also for others". Thank you for modeling
this for your children.
GRAND DAY
This year, we will celebrate Grand Day (formerly special Person's Day) on Friday, November 22nd from 9 -11 a.m. On this morning, your child may bring up to two people who are "grand" in their life. This can be a grandparent, aunt/uncle, neighbor, close friend, or even yourself. The morning will be divided into two sections. Each child will have a designated classroom time to show the Grand person the work they love to do and an activity time to participate in some fun activities outside the classroom. Your classroom time will either be 9:00 -10:00 a.m. or 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Siblings will have alternating times so both "grand" persons do not have to split attention. Your assigned time will come home today with your children, and a link will be sent through Transparent Classroom to RSVP.
MOVIE NIGHT
We had a great turnout for Movie Night, and what a fun evening it was! The Charleston K9 unit came out to do a demonstration with Officer Hartman and Jersey. The next Movie Night is scheduled for the spring!
THANK YOU PARENTS ASSOCIATION
The proceeds from the Movie Night popcorn and candy sales ($150) has gone towards buying the school their own Popcorn machine to use at future events!
Please make plans to come out and support the association and school at the next Spirit Night on Tuesday, Nov.12 at Bohemian Bull at the James Island location from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. There is plenty of space for children to play! A portion of the overall receipts for the night are donated back to the school.
Holiday Shoppe
As the Parents Association gears up for their annual Holiday Shoppe, Dec 17-19th, they want to remind you that you can drop items off for the shoppe all year long. What makes a good item: pristine regifted items, new items for all ages, and pet products. Donations can be dropped off in the office. This event gives children the opportunity to participate in the joy of giving by selecting gifts for their family, friends, and even their pets! A packet will go home in the next few weeks with more information and volunteer sign up.
HOLIDAY FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS
Our Elementary students participated in the the Greeting Card portion of this yearly festival. Their greeting card has the "Recipe for Peace" and will be on display from November 15th through December 31st at James Island County Park.

"A Silent Journey and Discovery" - Come and discover the Montessori classroom from the child's perspective. This will be your opportunity to explore the classroom and receive lessons from the faculty. You can gain a better understanding of your child's day-to-day experience and explore all levels from toddler to elementary.
NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
Last year's fundraising events, including Spring Fling, raised $8000 which was earmarked for new playground equipment. The faculty has made their choices, we have our plan in place and will be adding items at all levels. Once they are installed, look for information on the ribbon cutting. Thank you to everyone who gave to the school last year and the PA for staffing the Spring Fling!
