Dear
Parents,
On
behalf of the Charles Towne Montessori Parents Association,
I welcome you to Charles Towne Montessori and our community.
The CTMPA was formed several years ago and works with
CTM administration, faculty, staff and the Board of
Trustees to provide the "fun stuff" and make
our school the best it can be for our children.
Over
the years parents have become involved with classroom
projects, school fundraisers and events and helping
shape the continuing Montessori and non-Montessori education
we receive throughout the year. We organize and staff
the Fall Festival, Holiday Chocolate Sales, Holiday
Shoppe and Teacher Appreciation Week. We enjoy one another's
company on Social Sundays and support the Annual Campaign.
Through
the funds we raise, we assist teachers by fulfilling
their classroom "wish lists." We assist in
the classroom by donating our time and talents to special
projects and becoming "Class Parents" or "Library
Parents." We help keep the campus clean and well-maintained
on semi-annual clean-up days. Mostly, we take an active
approach to continually supporting what our children
learn at CTM by becoming involved in the school.
CTMPA
encourages you to attend our meetings on the third Thursday
of every month during the school year. We want to hear
your voice. We encourage you to volunteer whatever time
you can, whether half an hour a month to pick up library
books for your child's classroom, one hour a week to
assist in the administrative office or several hours
a year to plan and staff major events. Many hands are
required to maintain our community.
A
specific goal of CTMPA this year is to recruit more
Class Parents. We would like two parents per classroom
per semester to assist the teachers in broadcasting
communications to parents and organizing class projects
and teacher wish lists. Class Parents will be the liaisons
to the Parents Association and organize teacher appreciation
throughout the year.
