These
are just a few of the words that describe the learning
environment and children who learn at Charles Towne
Montessori School.
As
one of South Carolina's oldest and most distinguished
Montessori schools, Charles Towne Montessori School
provides a comprehensive program educating children
from infancy through the elementary years. We're the
only school in South Carolina that is internationally
accredited.
Our
certified AMI (Association Montessori International)
and AMS (American Montessori Society) teachers are passionately
committed to the pedagogical principles and approach
of Dr. Maria
Montessori.
During
the most recent school year, we celebrated the beginning
of our 36th year and the 101st year anniversary of Dr.
Montessori's first school, the Casa dei Bambini (House
of Children), in Rome, Italy. It was in this first school
that Montessori, a trained physician, would begin a
course that would transform her life and the lives of
thousands of children throughout the world.
Observing
a Montessori classroom where children work independently
and at their own pace in a child-centered environment
